Hello All!

Welcome back to the Newsletter! It is another week and what an exciting newsletter I have for you today! Today's blog post has been a long time in the making, and I also made the Medium post just in time.

Main Blog Post!

For the big post of the day, a blog post about my trip to Chincoteague, VA! I have been working so hard on this post and the video and after a lot of delay due to video issues, I finally have both the video AND the blog post out!

Medium Post.

Now for my second post this week! It is about the death of Google Poly. I posted this a few days ago (Wednesday). Poly was officially taken off the internet at the end of the day on the 30th, and I was lucky enough to remember that and take a look through the incredible work of the creators on the site. You can see the work that I looked at and have memorialized on Medium.

Going Viral!

Now back to a more cheerful topic! This week, I had a photo go viral on Imgur! This is a less well known social media where I recently started posting on! Before this photo blew up, I had never once mentioned that I had an account on here! The photo is currently on 43,921 Views and 941 Upvotes (likes). That is absolutely absurd! This support is awesome! Thank you so, so much! You can view the post using the green button:

News!

Now it is time to talk about what is new this week! Okay, not yet... I first have to catch up on what I totally missed last week! To start off...

- The Leica M10R was just announced last week and... apparently the paint rubs off of it...

- After Windows 11 was announced last week, we got some confusing news. Microsoft is not making Windows 11 available on devices without a TPM Chip? I think that my laptop does, but it will get confusing with the news I have coming up.

That was what I missed! I also just noticed that SendPulse isn't making links blue anymore... I think that the text should still link to the original article.

- To start off with, what I think is, the weirdest news of the week. Verizon, yes the cellular and internet company, wants to make an Alexa powered smart display! What?! Why???!!!

- Windows 11 spec requirements are in, and it won't support millions of PC's as of now! There is no performance reason, as I will tell you right below. IDK what Microsoft is doing, but it isn't good.

- Okay, somebody got Windows 11 to run on... wait for it... A SIX YEAR OLD PHONE! Yes, and Microsoft is trying to limit Windows 11 to higher specced machines!

- Nikon launched the Nikon Z FC, a retro style camera. It looks a lot like a film camera, but is mirrorless and digital.

- VSCO, a photo editing and social app that I don't understand in the slightest, added new filters. I have tried using this and have to say that I don't like it at all. Sorry VSCO fans!

- Samsung is officially supporting 5 years of updates on phones with a Galaxy Enterprise Edition of phones. You better believe that they are going to charge more for it! I don't actually know that, but with a name like that, it is expected.

- Here is something that I have always thought is hilarious: Apple uses Google Datacenters to store cloud data from the iCloud. The same datacenters are used for the Google Cloud. I always thought that was hilarious. Anyway, Apple is now spending 50% more on the storage because of increase in sales and Google is now storing 8 exabytes of storage for Apple services. Yes, 8 EXABYTES! 🤑

- Canon has created the broadest focal length on ANY Wide angle telephoto lenses. Oh, but it'll cost you $1700!

- The Sony a7R 1V is officially discontinued.

- Guess what?! Microsoft and Google are going to sue each other again! They had a break, but they are back at it with 18 lawsuits!

- All Android phones using AT&T are now going to use Google Messages instead of the default messaging app from the smartphone maker.

- A new Google Discover feed update is rolling out which removes the descriptions of articles, making room for more articles!

- Huawei is no longer using Sony sensors in phones new reports say. I mean, if Sony doesn't even use their own sensors, what do they expect. 😂

- GitHub and OpenAI both made an AI Tool that generates it's own code! Well, it basically an AutoCorrect for coding!

- New plans to open semiconductor factories in the US due to the shortages that are going to go into next year and possibly further.

- Nikon and Olympus are changing the way that cameras are charged... at least for them.

- Instagram is slowly becoming a video sharing platform. There are a ton of mixed opinions about it. Whether you like it or not, Instagram announced that they would be putting their effort into video based content from now on.

- Opera now has native support for Chrome OS and is the first 3rd party browser to do so!

- Google Photos now has a home screen widget, so you can get distracted from whatever you were doing on your phone before! It will be rolling out to both Android AND IOS devices.

- Instagram will likely be introducing subscriber/follower only stories! I am not really sure how much I'll use it, but we'll see, I may be surprised.

- The Sony Xperia 1 III is out using its usual Zeiss cameras, which I find very funny considering Sony does make and sell their own cameras. As always Marques has had it for a long time and has hid it from us. I wonder if he has the Pixel 6 yet! 😂

- The Google Pixel July security patch has been delayed a week because of the holiday weekend. Right now I do not know for sure what changes will come with this update, but it will likely be a security patch since the June update was a feature drop.

- Google is adding Android support for Virtual Vaccination cards. Sadly, only select states will use it since each state has to individually approve it, and it is unlikely that it will go international. Google does have the code finished, though, and certain healthcare systems in California are planning to use it!

- Someone got Windows 11 on a OnePlus 6T to yet again remind us that if phones can run the new OS, old computers can too.

- For the last bit of news, I have some major news that Fujifilm will be CLOSING four equipment manufacturing plants in the US!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is all I have for this week! I really hope that you enjoyed everything! I will be back again next week for another newsletter!
