Hey all!

Friday! This week I have a lot for you including a post from the main blog, an Adobe Accelerate episode, an announcement and the usual weekly news! Let's get started!

Big Announcement!

On Wednesday evening, the blog received a huge upgrade! What is that? The blog is now hosted by Wordpress.com Premium! That means that the blog has no ads any more, a custom .com domain, and more insights on my end! I kept the domain simple as:
digitalwondersandsmiles.com

I am so excited about this and hope that you are as well!

Glimpse - Main Blog

This week on the main blog, I took a look at a photo editor that I have been so excited to look at! It is called Glimpse and I love it! Check out the photos that I edited and the power of this editor using the blue button below!

Adobe Accelerate #6!

It is time for episode #6 of Adobe Accelerate! This week's edit was super fun, I hope that you enjoy it as well!

Photo & Tech News!

This week, I would like to try and get back to the normal photo news!

- To start, the Samsung August security patch has come out!

- While on that topic, the Pixel security patch just came out on my Pixel. It seems like rollout has been a bit slow recently, so if you were worrying, it is out now!

- Google Photos has a new widget, and it is the first photo widget from them for Android!

- CNBC wrote an article on Xiaomi and how they are now the biggest smartphone maker in the entire world after surpassing both Apple and Samsung in the same month!

- Finally, we have some news about Fuchsia OS from Google. They are working on bringing a full browser to the OS... Not sure how that works with the Nest Hub 1st gen since I think that it needs a browser...

Lenovo has been working on improving their own Android tablets... I personally think that Chrome OS is a better OS on a tablet, Google has already shown that they have the same opinion after releasing Chrome OS tablets instead of Android ones.

- The "upgrade" to Google Chat for Hangouts users has been a total disaster, now Google shows a prompt to say that people must use Google Chat when logging on to the remains of the service. This isn't the last you'll hear about this in today's newsletter!

- The $80 paint shop pro has received an overhaul for 2022 and is now available.

- Steam is coming to Chromebooks through Vulkan! It is in development and looks promising for Chrome OS gamers.

- Yes, this is incredibly nerdy... But it is soooo cool! There are framed Pixel 1 sets available with internals labelled!

- Google might be releasing a new Chromecast with Google TV... It could be a Chromecast, since Google filed to the FCC a "wireless streaming device". We'll have to see. I expect that it'll be at the Pixel 6 launch event.

- Court documents came out saying that Google actually considered buying Epic Games to solve the lawsuit. We know that they didn't, but it would have been one of the most interesting acquisitions in history, possibly!

- The Pixel 5a might be releasing on August 26th! It honestly looks like the 4a5G...

- Canon patented a new and improved battery indicator for cameras! I would so love to have this!

- Snapsafe is out as the Android equivalent to Magsafe from Mophie... Is Apple going to sue them... that would definitely not suprise me!

- Here is an article from Android Police talking about the lacklustre zoom from the Pixel 5 that is causing excitement for the Pixel 6!

- Parallels 17 allows Windows 11 to be run on Mac OS!

- A new HP ChromeDesktop is coming! It is part of the Chromebase series, and it includes a full 21.5-inch screen at a price point of $599.

- Although I haven't been able to test this, call recording is rolling out to Pixels! This is actually super exciting! It is also rolling out... wait for it... WORLDWIDE!

- There is a new snipping tool coming to Windows 11 in betas, but I may have lost the link to the article... Sorry!!!

- Google Nest released some incredible cameras and a doorbell! They look so great!

- Nikon has lost market share in the camera market by 4.9%

- Here is a donut in camera form... yeah! Canon has patented what we all wanted! 😂

Okay! Thank you so much for reading and supporting the blog! Have a fantastic week! I apologize for the hour-late newsletter, btw!!!
