Disappoint.

In this week's blog post, I had the "wonderful" experience of editing with the new integrated Windows 11 Video Editor. To quote someone on Reddit: "This a big step back from Windows Movie Maker". Despite me and other videographers having some hype about Clipchamp being a new and improved video editor on Windows, it disappointed me. The worst part was, I genuinely liked it during the edit up until the end of the edit/export. Check out my story using the editor at the link below!

Adobe Accelerate SOON

Following 2 and a 1/2 months of no Adobe Accelerate, I do have the next episode recorded. Wow, were there a ton of technical difficulties. OBS was not working great on Windows 11, it gave me a black output video (yes, I did a full recording without video). This was VERY unfortunate and I have been working around that the best I can. My second option would be Streamlabs (former Streamlabs OBS). I, like many others right now, am refusing to use it following the statement released by OBS official informing the world of the fued that has lasted for years now. The plot thickens as Lightstream speaks up and says that Streamlsabs copied their site and software features in quite obvious ways.

I ended up recording with Intel Graphics Command Center which is quite a stark difference to the feature packed OBS. Luckily, all is well, and I have a pretty decent recording (if I do say so myself). I will try to release that episode, once edited, in the near future!

NEWS!

Now, for what happened in Photography & Tech this week!

- Google Camera 8.4 is rolling out (eventually) and is in an AKP stage right now. It brings what I can only think to be pre-feature drop mini features. Now you can disable the exposure sliders for a simpler UI, and a timer light that uses the flash to count down 3, 2, 1 (or flash, flash, flash) before a photo so you know when your photo is being taken!

- Following the partnership with Microsoft begining a few years ago, Samsung is discontinuing DeX, the Samsung Computer powered by a phone. It is not gone forever yet, as it is only dissappearing from Windows 7 & MacOS (sorry Mac users).

- INTRODUCING... The Toaster Phone! Yep, Japanese Toaster company Balmuda! It is a somewhat unique Android phone that is similar to the Pepsi phone or KFC phones.

- Following some investigation, Google is working on a secret update that is way bigger than it seemed on the surface. Android 12L is going to be bringing screen size optimization overhauls and also update corresponding Google Apps like Google messages and make them have a different and more optimized design on devices like Chromebooks. It is going to be a huge overhaul with other little improvements that are yet to be revealed.

- A new Instax camera is coming as a Hybrid Film-Digital camera!

- Startup company Faucet has raised $13 Million to bring better AI to Photoshop through add-ons.

- Windows Media player is having a Windows 11 rehaul, despite the OS already launching... It is coming though to bring more modern features, or not, to Media Player.

- The 2nd Gen Pixelstand, successor to what is considered to be the best wireless charger on the market, is now available for the same price tag of $79. It is only in preorder stage, but will soon be shipping.

- If you want to know a bit more about the Streamlabs controversy that I mentioned above, you can check it out here.

- The new ChromeOS launcher update is coming bringing a new app menu! It is now more of a mix between Android and Windows... but it's Google, so it'll run way better than Windows does. 😂

- Despite Apple forcing Android to IOS (& vise versa) campatibility to be bad over text, Google is pretty fed up of it and is writing an algorithm to stop texts from saying Liked "hi". Google is using an algorithm to convert it to work with the equivlent and better Google Messages emoji reactions on messages. The converting may be slightly difficult, but the hope is that Google will fix a huge issue that Apple refuses to change.

- So, now for a funny story. Microsoft now has one of the Worlds fastest supercomputers... and it runs Ubuntu, not Windows. No surprise that even Microsoft knows how horribly Windows runs on Servers, and even in general.

- The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is leaked with Windows 11 and Snapdragon 870.

That's it for this week!
