Photoshop Removing Features? (Like, A LOT) I wanted to make a bit of an extended section on this because I found out (even though it was on the tables a while ago) that ALL of Photoshops 3d effects, which is a shocking about of stuff, is being removed entirely or migrated to different programs. I only just found out because I was attempting to use artificial lights and a message appeared informing me of the change. It seems that enough of the code is gone that you can no longer use the feature at all, even though they were going to leave it in. The explanation that they give is because newer OS's (presumably talking about Windows 11 & macOS Monterey) have a different type of interfacing with the GPU of computers. macOS Monterey has been out for just a month, which may have sparked more of a change, as well as Windows 11 being out for 3 months. It is honestly highly unfortunate for people like me who often use things like this. What I am more worried about is the feature in Premiere Pro (which I like more). I use that a lot for strobe effects or just a contrasty light look. The removal actually does date back to Photoshop Elements 2020, I have only used Photoshop full version for this feature, but it was never in the Elements version I kind of use. It is honestly quite frustrating because they go on to say that they have no plans to add it back in a new form. Why?! It only makes it more frustrating that on top of that, Photoshop 23.1 is a very unstable with UI glitches all over the place and unusable features that aren't being removed. So, Adobe Accelerate 10 isn't coming until at least the end of January (unless I record it in elements which I don't want to do). |
