Hey all!
I missed last week while I was on vaca so I have 2 blog posts and double news! Enjoy!

This weeks blog post!
For todays blog post I wrote about my second day in North Beach MD! I have some photos from my 250d which isn't to common anymore but I was actually pleased how they came out, horrible to edit since barely any programs support cr3 like cr2 is supported. Hope you enjoy!

Top 6 Headlines:

- An engineer at Google made headlines with a shared conversation with Googles AI called LaMDA. The engineer claimed that the AI had become a Sentient being (able to feel emotion). While the conversation could suggest that, Google never wanted this stuff to make it to the public but the actions of this engineer aside, it is shocking how human-like this AI is. Honestly, if you chatted (text) online then you would never know this wasn't a human because the complex topics it understands and creates opinions and VERY long responses on. It is some really cool stuff.

- ChromeOS has quite a few news things that were on the headlines but the first (last week) involved the thought that ChromeOS will get Android's Material You design which honeslty would be incredible. ChromeOS actually could learn quite a few things from Android. Things like Google lens in the window view would be cool. Anyways, the Material You update doesn't seem to be as soon as we would hope but Google did release plenty of other features that countered that.

- VSCO relaunched with a more "Pro" set of features. I'd certainly be willing to try this but don't have a ton of confidence for VSCO, looks cool but we'll have to see how much this grand relaunch changes and imroves the core of the app.

- We had a TON of hype about the Nothing phone which looks to be something... MKBHD got an exclusive look at it but wasn't allowed to show more than the settings and body of the phone. The body is an iPhone like design but doesn't scream iPhone ripoff because of a large LED array on the back and its uniqueness. Unfortunatly, after this we discovered that it isn't even going to try and compete in the US market with no US launch and rather focusing on a less iPhone dominated market in Europe.

- Now for some very interesting news for iPhone users. The new "edit" feature arriving in iMessage doesn't work right for iPhone 8 and below with no sign of a fix. There is speculation that Apple will make the feature worse on older iPhones annoy users and make them upgrade. The issue makes it so that instead of messages being edited will actually resend the message. Yikes. What seems to be a trivial thing to fix might actually be intentional. Not a great look for Apple as the messaging industry has become VERY competitive and Apple is loosing and arguably lost the #1 spot for messaging :(

- Now for one of the biggest news stories from Amazon and Alexa. A very controversial AI demonstration that might release on Alexas can use any clip of someones voice under a minute and speak like that person. The demonstration from Amazon's AI team showed a little boy having is dead Grandma read a story to him. uhhhhhh. yiiiikes. I as well as many others think this is very creepy and could be damaging as a feature. I'm happy I use Nest.

Well, after that creepy end to the newsletter I'll see you next week! 😂
