Friends,

Election season can feel overwhelming.

The constant headlines, advertisements and divisions can leave all of us needing a little room to breathe. So, for the care of your wellbeing: This weekend, take a moment by stepping away.

Walk beneath the trees. Follow a trail. Sit beside the water. Find some quiet within one of the 118 properties that make up the Wisconsin State Park System.

Let that time outdoors remind you what matters:

  • Healthy lands and clean water
  • Accessible places to explore and recharge
  • Strong communities and local economies
  • Public spaces that belong to everyone

Then, when you return, remember what those places gave you—and consider what it will take to protect them for generations to come.

Over the summer, we did a collaboration with Wisconsin Conservation Voters highlighting the Friends' fight to preserve the Wisconsin State Park System. We encourage you to watch what was created, highlighting a number of locations throughout Wisconsin and why we are all passionate for the spaces that give back to us in many ways.

Wisconsin’s public lands cannot cast a ballot—but you can.

Before casting your ballot on November 3, learn where candidates stand on sustainable park funding, public access, conservation and support for the staff, volunteers and Friends groups caring for these treasured places.

Escape the noise. Remember what matters. Return informed and ready to vote.

With gratitude,
