6th Flourish Newsletter

 

Introduction

 

Welcome to our latest newsletter where you will hear more about some of the numerous programme activities and initiatives by the FLOURISH Community. We would first like to congratulate the first FLOURISH graduates of the Joint Masters Programme, with 16 students from across the globe having completed the programme successfully and graduating on 10th March 2026 at the University of Malta. We are very proud of these leading pioneers and wish them all the best in their next steps of their careers as ambassadors for the promotion of resilience in children and young people. We are also happy to note that the second group of students are now in the final phase of their studies and preparing to submit their dissertation in the coming months. The third group are presently enjoying the start of their second semester at the University of Crete, while we are preparing to select the fourth group of students from over 750 scholarship applications. In a world beset by numerous challenges with children and young people exposed to various risks and adversities our programme gains more currency and becomes even more relevant as it seeks to promote inclusion and equity, hope and positive growth, wellbeing and mental health. In our own 'little' ways we can all help to make a difference in fostering a more equitable, inclusive, harmonious and caring society. 

 

                         3rd cohort students in Malta

Our third cohort of master’s students successfully completed their first semester at the University of Malta in January 2026. They explored the theories of resilience deepening both their academic knowledge and personal understanding of what it means to empower the next generation. Beyond their studies, they experienced the beauty and history of the Maltese islands, building lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.

Pausing to Reflect: Closing the Semester with Gratitude

Mobility is one of the most enriching and challenging aspects of the Erasmus Mundus journey. As our third cohort prepared to transition to their next destination, the FLOURISH Connect Network hosted a special session to help them pause, reflect, and intentionally close their first semester. The workshop created space to honour their growth, resilience, and sense of community before the next chapter begins.

3rd cohort start semester at the University of Crete

The University of Crete recently hosted the Orientation Day for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Program “Resilience in Educational Contexts” (FLOURISH), welcoming the students for the 2nd Spring Semester 2026.

FLOURISH Winter School – a space for cooperation, joy of learning and educational resilience

From the 8th to the 13th December 2025, the FLOURISH Winter School, organised by Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava in Romania gathered students and teachers from 18 countries in Vatra Dornei. Through workshops, school visits, and cultural experiences, participants explored inclusive education, intercultural competence, and resilience, strengthening international connections and their shared commitment to more inclusive and resilient educational systems.

Promoting Resilience Across Europe – Info Seminars in Greece & Malta

As part of the Flourish Project’s commitment to strengthening resilience in education The University of Malta and the University of Crete (Greece) recently hosted information seminars. These events brought together educators, students, and stakeholders to explore key themes from the “Resilience in Educational Contexts” programme.
