Hi all!For today I have the short blog post and the usual news!
The blog post! Here is a photo from my Pixel! enjoy!
Top 3 Headlines:
- Apple made headlines as some confusion over the iPhone 14 was cleared up. Apple announced that the iPhone lineup will be manufactured in India going forward. This year, they will only manufacture 5% of iPhones in India and the rest will continue being made in China. The company is the same though as Apple is using the new FoxConn factory built in India (same company that makes iPhones in China) and based on past rumors, Google is likely taking Apples spot with premium Pixel manufacturing in one of the 3 factories in China. It is an interesting shift to see happening and even more interesting to see the continuous expansion of FoxConn.- The news came out very suddently that Google was shutting down Stadia. The abrupt announcment of the news was not only in the press but also internally employees had no notice of the shutdown. The platform had recieved a UI update this week, 4 games were about to release and that doesn't indicate signs of stopping. The order seemed to come from higher up and it is unclear why Google decided to end the service so suddenly. - For the final bit of news, Google had their 22 Search event announcing major Google Search & Maps updates releasing. Maps got the 3d building animations from Google Earth Studio and Search is going to get some UI overhauls and data additions. Another announcment was the expansion of Maps Eco-routes to have options for if you have an electric car, deseil vehicle, etc to better calculate the impact of your trip. That's it this week! Excited to see what Google unveils on the 6th and you'll definetly be hearing about that hardware in the next newsletter!
